Companies like Visijax have technology to be able to see more cyclists on the road

Smart pedals, warn if a stolen bike helmets for cyclists who impending accident on the site was unveiled at CES.

The pedals have sensors built in that when a bicycle was torn to detect and can tell you where it was taken.

The helmet prototype was developed by Volvo to warn a vehicle if they got close to a cyclist.

In addition, you can also cyclists, whether in the blind spot of a vehicle so that they take action to avoid a collision.

The helmet with popular fitness intelligent surveillance applications after the location and speed of a cyclist. This information is shared with all Volvo vehicles in the area that are equipped with City Safety system of the company. Motorists will be informed on the display of the lead vehicle and the driver is alerted by a light mounted on the helmet.

Klas Bendick, a spokesman for Volvo, the system's ability to warn of impending collisions that could help save lives as accident data suggests 50% of cyclists on the road with a car hit killed.

"Exploring the security systems based on the cloud, we are now getting closer to eliminating the blind spot remaining between cars and cyclists and avoiding collisions," he said in a statement.

Pedal power

Also shown at CES French company Connected cycle pedal their fine, she hopes to help the number of stolen cycles.

Intelligent pedal with its own power supply and can see what is happening with the bike on which it is attached

"In Europe, six bikes are stolen every minute and all that the city's cycles know that bicycle theft is a real problem," said the founder of Connected Jean-Marie Debbasch cycle.
Connected pedal cycle looks like any other but, he says, it can be used to transform an old stupid bike into one that is much more intelligent.
"Inside the pedal we have GPS, GPRS and a sensor that detects your work," said Mr. Debbasch.
"Everything is in the cloud and is displayed on a smartphone application.
"It is completely self-contained, it has its own power generation and an Internet connection, so you are alerted when someone steals your bike," he said. The pedal has its own coded keys to ensure they are only used by the rightful owner, he added.
