How HIV is like a virus grows and adapts to the human immune system, a new study finds it less deadly and take more time, turn to AIDS.
The study conducted by researchers at the University of Oxford examined cases in Botswana and South Africa and found the HIV slowing effect could make the virus harmless after all.
"It is quite remarkable. You can use the ability to reproduce is less than 10% in Botswana, South Africa and it is very exciting. We observe the evolution happening in front of us and it's amazing how fast the process is ongoing, "Professor of the University of Oxford Philip Goulder told the BBC.
As it develops, the virus will replicate its ability to lose. Less replication of the virus makes it less effective to attack the body and means it will take longer to turn into AIDS. The study suggests antiretroviral drugs could be the development of the media in a weakened form.
"Twenty years ago, AIDS time was 10 years, but in the last 10 years in Botswana, which may have increased to 12.5 years at the big picture, which is a rapid change, a kind of gradual change but "said Professor Goulder.
